CREATE the BLUEPRINT for YOUR CAPITAL CAMPAIGN…
by implementing a Planning & Assessment (Feasibility) Study

Getting to the point of “asking” donors to support the objectives for your capital campaign takes a significant amount of detailed planning and preparation. The James Company conducts a comprehensive campaign planning study.

In this study, also known as a Feasibility Study, we will:

  • Prepare a preliminary Case for Support. The Case for Support describes the objectives for a proposed capital campaign and a range of costs needed to fund the objectives. This document is used to “test” the potential for raising funds for your objectives.
  • Strategize the Planning & Assessment approach for your congregation/nonprofit.
  • Conduct one-on-one interview conversations with your members, key donors, stakeholders, staff, board, volunteers, and others as deemed important to talk with.
  • Analyze your fundraising strategies and results, review your fundraising guidelines and appeals, and benchmark your church/nonprofit against other similar organizations.
  • Determine the appropriate messaging, leadership, campaign structure, and timing of your campaign along with potential challenges.
  • Estimate how much a capital campaign could realistically raise if the campaign is properly planned and implemented. This estimate is based on a number of factors, including the strengths of your organization, the perception of the need for the Case for Support objectives, and the level of investment by prospective donors.

This study is the blueprint for your capital campaign. The James Company will provide a substantive and thoughtful analysis, showing you the strengths – and potential roadblocks – of your proposed campaign. Our findings will guide your campaign strategy and help you build your fundraising capacity while strengthening your fundraising potential.

The James Company has extensive experience in conducting these studies. Please let us know if you would like to talk about what a study would mean for your church/nonprofit.
